We sort through all the card and paper on site ensuring all the newspapers, white paper, magazines, telephone directories and any junk mail and flyers are sent to be recycled. It only takes seven days for a recycled newspaper to come back as a new one and every ton of papepr recycled saves 17 trees

Recycling cans saves up to 95% of the energy it takes to make new aluminium and steel from raw materials. Metal is 100% recyclable and can be recycled over and over again. We take great care to make sure we avoid any metals going to landfill.

  • Large Items: Whilst the Waste Transfer Station is in use we will then look to clear any larger items ready for reuse or disposal.

At present no apart from asbestos. However some hazardous materials such as paint, noxious chemicals, solvents and medical waste require additional costs to dispose of which we will happily discuss subject to requirements.

How Long Does a House Clearance Take?

This can depend on the size of the house and the types of objects that we will be clearing. As a rough guide a Small house will take anywhere between 1/2 a day to 2 days to clear

How do you work out the price for a clearance?

There are three factors that influence the cost. 1. The labour required. 2. The cost of disposal and recycling of the items cleared. 3. The resale value of the items to be cleared. Once we have assessed the job we calculate the price. All our prices are fully inclusive of all costs, so there are no hidden extras. How much notice do you need?

Usually a week is plenty of notice. However we are here to help if you need to get a job done at very short notice (under 24hrs). So don’t worry if you have an urgent job, we will do everything possible to meet your deadline. Emergency prices may be applied.

What happens if there is more or less stuff in the house than we estimated?

For a variety of reasons the size of the clearance can be changed right up to the last minute. We understand this and simply adjust the price accordingly. We will check and assess on arrival.

What sort of furniture and effects have a value?

Antiques, art, collectables and high quality designer furniture are the items that have enough resale value to offset against the costs of clearance. 

We do make sure good quality second hand furniture finds a home, but it usually doesn’t have much value. We are however very happy to give advice on how to sell secondhand furniture in cases where we think someone else may pay more than we will. We will also help you get it reused by recommending local free-cycle initiatives.

Until we can assess exactly how long the job will take, what if any residual value there is, and what our recycling / disposal costs are going to be we can’t give a precise quote. We give estimates over the phone. Because we have over 5 years experience in pricing up clearance jobs, we are accurate with our estimations 95 % of the time. In the unlikely event the actual quote is increased once we have assessed the job on site, there is no obligation on your part to instruct us to carry out the work. 

We ask for a £50 Any deposits are no returnable 7 days prior to any job. We ask for a deposit for the estimated price of the job.
